About the Okanagan Valley

Okanagan Lake home of the Legendary Ogopogo is surrounded by scenic beaches and fun filled cities. With an abundance of natural resources it is no wonder we are often referred to as the Four Seasons Playground. Whether you enjoy boating, swimming, golfing, skiing, cross country skiing, shopping, hiking, water skiing, museums, historical sites or just plain relaxing the Okanagan has something for everyone.

Okanagan Lake is 169 kilometers (100 miles) long from Penticton in the south to Vernon in the north with Kelowna situated in the middle. The lake has countless beaches where you can sunbathe, take a dip or enjoy a beautiful sunset. Central Okanagan has an average of 2000 hours of sunshine every summer, with an average maximum temperature of nearly 28 degrees Celsius (82 degrees Fahrenheit). It is not uncommon for the temperatures to reach mid to high 30 C. The evenings are generally cool.
